SMS

If you’re looking to use SMS as a cheap way to push content to customers then you probably won’t get a sympathetic ear from MAD.

SMS is an excellent customer service tool for example: to confirm an appointment or despatch; thank an inquirer or customer; alert customers such as airline passengers of a change to a flight; remind delegates that an event starts at a certain time and much more.

There are three ways to use SMS for marketing purposes:

  1. Offer an opt‑in service where customers give the marketer permission to contact them via SMS with offers and other content.
  2. As a method for entering competitions and so allow the marketer to capture limited data from entrants for further contact. Particularly useful for instant‑win and voting competitions.
  3. As a method for prospects and customers to download content from advertisements or at events, such as outdoor posters, television ads, trade or consumer shows and other places where potential customers gather.

MAD has sent messages for clients to a few dozen and a few thousand. Call or e‑mail Malcolm Auld or Paul Anderson on +61 2 9976 0900 or inquiry@madmail.com.au.
